Burning the midnight acrylic - Washed Out

in #art8 years ago

Has anyone else had a chaotically weird week?

A ferocious few days produced clear motivation to construct a self-reflection of sorts. I had been working on this piece for about a week or two, loving the pallet but not knowing where it would end up.
Here is what I explored last night, through the brisk chill and night time silence.

what I started out with

A close up of the blocky textures I had prepared beforehand, liking the brown so far..

I decide to add the face I had seen within the painting, roughly shaping out the flesh - the eye has too much attitude, I'll fix that later ;)

A closer look at the intersection I've got going on, I feel like it wants to be symmetrical, but I'm too clumsy for that!

I start to bring in the oils, trying to hint at a larger power going on - a feeling of being washed over

I missed using oils - they add such a beautiful depth to an environment!
I found a tube of my old cream yellow, gorgeous for energetic textures. Here's what I came out with!

I have some time to come back to this one as oil takes so long to dry, but I want to keep the idea fresh in my mind..

Maybe this week will be a time to finish what we have started. ... Or we continue the flow, you never know!
Thanks for being yourself, always!
