Generally speaking, it is. I feel like I play it safe too often, though.
A random thought for you while walking around at 5 AM trying to get my son to fall back to sleep.
I know you use stencils to make your collage papers, but doing rubbings might be a fun option to add to your repertoire. I just saw so many textures that would make great runnings and textured papers like the ones you use and thought of your art.
Rubbings would probably be more work than stencils, but it might be fun.
Hi again !
I expect to try many things. I also hand paint some of the papers and I have the gel presses too, which I also use stencils with sometimes too. I've seen folks make some using foliage and other things. I have inks too, but haven't used them much yet. I would certainly try something else as well. I won't know if I love it till I try it.
Thanks for thinking of me and mentioning it.
I’ve seen videos lately of people hammer pressing leaves and flowers, too. In think that looks like a lot of fun. One of these days I’ll get around to trying it.
I don't know what "hammer pressing" is, but it sounds fun !
I'll have to "goog" it !
You sandwich vegetation between to sheets of paper and tap it with a hammer to press the juices into the paper. It’s supposed to make a color transfer of the leaf or flower, etc.
Oh ! I can see how that would work.
