.......original digital artwork, editing and photography by @bleujay; presented by @bentleycapital.

'Study of a Poppy'

Black and White Study

One of the discoveries made after completing this work was that this is a composition which is 'reading' in whatever position it is placed......note the signature placement.

Transition Stages

Original Photograph of the Skye

Thank you Steemians for visiting.

For those interested in the details.......

Poppies are one of those fleurs that intrique and fascinate with their robust colour and interesting texture.....what the artist hopes to communicate are these very characteristics.  It was some time ago that @englishtchrivy and @reddragonfly posted photographs of poppies on their sites; however their photographs are the inspiration for this rendering of the Poppy Fleur.  Thank you @englishtchrivy and @reddragonfly.

Thank you for your interest.

Kind Regards,

bleujay

beautiful work as usual mon ami!
all neat and perfectly combined tones as always!
I keep scrolling back up
and I can't stop staring at the details
how do you that?
I wish you were my art teacher already!

I didn't notice the signature till I read the last part!
I'm glad to see you post again!

you know I love poppies!
thank you for the mention you're such a darling xox!

Hiya mon ami.......

Always lovely to have you drop by for a cuppa. ^__^

So happy to hear you enjoyed the work....that you had to keep looking at the details.....sweet.

With regard to the details.....study and draw...use apps that give the texture you are looking for, yet you control the amount...just as if you were using water, etc. to give a watercolour painting texture.....this is no different..... it certainly looks different.....however it is the same principle.

Your photographs assisted greatly as there are no poppies here at the moment......they reminded me of the lines and krinklelies I would have missed just drawing from memory.......thank you.

Wishing you and yours all the best.

A bientot.

xox!

thank you for explaining mon ami
I've always done that
checking every detail
maybe cause I also wish to be able to have that finesse with my art work :D

am glad it helps

have a great week ahead!

Thank you for creating this beautiful digital art and it is really not possible to imagine summer without poppies You are right there is no certain side you can observe the picture from any side and it would look right.

We have an orange one in garden but this year we found some yellow and red. in order to get a mixture of htem this time we collected the dry flower with seeds and spread them in our back garden. Initially I thought that htey only bloom early a year but I was wrong there are now new young plant with flowers already :)

Thank you @stef1 for stopping by for a cuppa.....appreciate your kind words regarding the work.

Yes....it is true....The word 'Summer' brings to mind 'Poppies' for they can be found in the hedgerows and in fine gardens alike. Happily, you will soon have plenty to choose from......here's hoping they will inspire you to paint them. ^__^
