BEASTLY TALES

UNDECIDED

Orville Ramsbottom was prone to dither,
Snakewise, to one side, or the other he would slither.
His opinions he did, at any rate,
Yes, they would continually vacillate.
To be, or not to be, that is the question.
Whether to enjoy a meal, or get indigestion.
Orville would dither and dodder while shopping.
Due to this uncertainty, some things he was dropping.
“You broke it, you bought it!” the shopkeeper said.
Sometimes Orville jut turned and fled.

Of course, he couldn’t return to that shop again.
And, gradually, he ran out of a shopping refrain.
“What am I to do?” Orville uncertainly thought.
“I really must be more decisive, really I ought!”
He decided he’d move to another suburb.
He became more authoritative, a positive blurb.
“I’ll take that!” He said without doubt,
“Don’t try to change my mind,” he would then shout.
The shopkeeper would then, ring up the sale.
In the Liquor store, would he have beer or would he have ale?
“I like beer, I like it without fail,”
“But I also like ale, Indian Pale Ale.”
“Whilst I am, to waste money, quite loath,”
“Perhaps, in any case, I’d better have both!”

Orville asked his fiance, amid the streets din,
“Should we wed, or just live in sin!?”
A taxi-cab hooted, gave them a start!
Orville needed more practice in his proposing art.
His fiance replied, “If it’s alright with you,”
“I’ll choose the latter, easier to undo!”
