Indonesian Art That Smells Mystical

Art is part of the traditions and cultures that are actually a manifestation of the identity of a nation. Because it is the same with the treasures, art is also passed down from generation to generation in order to keep awake keeksisanya. In Indonesia alone there are so many local arts that are unique and interesting. These arts will usually be performed during harvest, celebration and important events. This is because for our society Art is not just a cultural heritage that must be preserved. Some of them are also related to the mystical world. The birth of this mystical arts itself can not be separated from the belief of our ancestors who embrace 'animism' and 'dynamism'. Here are some mystical smelling art that I share briefly.

1.Debus

Debus is an art that combines elements of dance, music and martial arts that are characteristic of the region of Banten, West Java. This art has a major attraction in martial action that shows the human immunity to sharp objects, fire even to hard water. According to the history of this art, it first appeared in the 16th century during the reign of Sultan Maulana Hassanuddin between 1532-1570.
Extreme attractions that are commonly displayed in Debus include, piercing and slicing the body with sharp objects, cooking eggs on the head, until the most extreme is to water the body with hard water. Well here is the uniqueness of Debus because even though it has been stabbed, in the iris or exposed to hot objects, the bodies of the Debus performers are usually completely unharmed and even scratched.

2.Bambu Gila

Crazy Bamboo is a Maluku Typical Art that feels very mystical impression. The dance art that is usually staged in special occasions uses Bamboo, as its main attraction. But this Bamboo is not ordinary bamboo because previously been in recited a special mantra. After being recited this mantra suddenly bamboo will feel very heavy and even move with wild. This is when the dancers have to endure holding the bamboo so as not to let go while holding the weight and strong shocks. The mystical impression of this art is quite strong because not only the visitors who will feel the mystical aura at the Bamboo Bamboo performances, but also the viewers who see around him. This unique art can almost be found in every district in Maluku and even now has become one of the most popular tourist attraction in Maluku.

Kuda Lumping or also known as "Jathilan" is a regional arts that almost exist in all areas of Java and Bali, although with different names. Art form of this dance dance is usually played by 6 to 10 people with a characteristic, dance that uses a horse made from woven bamboo. According to the history of the existing horse Lumping is a dance that was inspired by the life of people in ancient times that everyday life usually filled with hunting and farming. Because it was formerly dance Kuda Lumping often staged in the paddy field area will start the park and when will harvest the rice fields.
A fairly powerful dance movement with strong pounding of the dancers of the Lumping Horse is said to be able to fertilize the soil, as well as frighten wild animals like wild pigs to approach the rice fields. 4.Sanghyang Janger

Sanghyang Janger is a dance that is often performed in the village of Metra, Tembuku, Bangli. This dance is classified as a unique dance, sacred as well as closely related to the occult world. In contrast to Janger dance that lately more highlight the movement and body language is sensual. Sanghyang Janger dance actually displays many dangerous movements by playing with embers. But here is precisely the main attraction of Sanghyang Janger dance, because despite direct contact with the fire but none of the Sanghyang Janger dancers who suffered burns. When staged Sanghyang Janger will usually be manned by 10 male dancers and 10 female dancers.

This is related to the purpose of this dance performances in the past which is an offering for Ida Hyang Widi Wasa, to request the salvation and prosperity for the citizens of Bangli.
