Many, many years ago I used to do a lot of painting. But the combination of a small house and a daughter getting bigger and more curious by the minute I needed to find something to do that was a little less messy. The solution was to replace paint with paper. I used old magazines with glossy pages, cut out small pieces in the colours I wanted and then glued them to varied backgrounds. (I will make another post about this later)
The reason I mention this is that this was the start of what would turn into a small business of recycling design.
Today I mostly work with old unwanted china, both broken, unbroken plates and nips. These things get turned into candlesticks, jewellery, cake stands and many other things.
In this post you will see some of the jewellery pieces I have made.
I found the plate I used for this ring in the basement of an old neighbouring building that was being torn down. It was the only surviving piece of a child's crockery.
I like your stuff, followed.
Hope to hear you on SteemSpeak Radio soon.
