While it hasn't been a full year that I've been on hive, I am loving it here. The art community over at Drawaday with many community lead challenges and fun art that is def worth checking out. They've inspired me to draw more even if I don't always draw as much as I wish I did. (Esp the past two weeks cause I've been sick and miserable.
I also want to give a shout out to The Inkwell for being an amazing place for writers and readers. There's so many great short stories over there. It's awesome. (I've been absent the last few weeks due to a combination of working on my own novel and also again being sick.
I also want to shout out to @cherokee4life and @nozem01 for making my time on Hive extra awesome. And for helping me so much on my Splinterlands journey.
Anyway, here's a Christmass tree I drew. It's based on the tree in my home though it' a lot more densely decorated. This was an excersise in reducing details.

It began with a shape. Just to get a sense of the space.

Then I worked in more branches. I notice that the tree very much has levels so I worked with that.

Then I did some shading.

LIGHTS! I love the lightpen brush in procreate.

Then some more ornaments, and some presents under the tree.

Then some more colour, and def more colour in the tree.

Then some bright feathery bits on the ends of the branchs.

Then coloured the presents.

Then some touch ups and a darker background, and we done!

Anyway, hope you had a great Christmass, and a great new year. Did you make any goals for the new year? Mines to draw regularly again.

I'm glad we've met, always cool to see how you draw these things, it's so much different than how I (without any talent for it) would draw something, keep it up!
that talent is the result of a lot of time spent learning so if you ever want to learn let me know and I'll send you some of the stuff that helped me a lot.
This is a beautiful drawing of a tree made me feel nostalgic seeing the multicolored lights.
You never cease to amaze us Kylin you are an inspiration to the artists at drawaday community. I hope you get well soon. I am experiencing some burn out myself and taking some time off and focusing offline.
Cheers to you and to all Hivers and creative friends
Thank you on all counts!
And that inspiration is just a reflection of the inspiration you guys give me. :)
WE LOVE YOU KYLIN! MERRY CHRISTMAS :)
MERRY CHRISTMASS TO YOU TO GOOD SIR!
