365 Drawing Challenge #1 - Presentation

in #art7 years ago (edited)

Hi Everybody !

A friend of mine started a 365 speed-paintings self-challenge a year ago. Few weeks ago I promised him that I would start mine when he finishes his...

...today he posted his last 365th artwork.

(All the images are my own creation and so I own the rights of them)

Just to be clear: my goal here is not to get bitchez, fame and moniez (even tho' they are welcome to come) but I want to improve few things from my workflow and technique, and here are they:

  • My lineart Which is something that we can always improve.

  • The rhythm of my characters Because they are mostly static when I do them.

  • Composition Because I SUCK on it.

Not much to say, here is the first one !

And I want to share it with you, because this way I feel forced to do it even if I don t want to, have no energy, no time or my hands are bananas. So, without too much to say, see you in 364 sketches from now to see if any of that changed :D Viking lady cutting some heads to celebrate!

Since this is the very first one and we are so happy for me, I want to show you the lil' process (and how many times I sketched over sketch over sketch over sketch:

And that's all!

I want you to tell me if this is actually too boring for you since these are just drawings without too much detail...
I plan to make a post every 3-4 days to show as much as I did in these days. If that's too much, I wanna know it! Maybe once a-week is a better idea or even daily! I don t know!

*Thanks a lot for your support! Bye !

Man, if your composition sucks and your character are static, then even a lot of other artists are in a really bad situation... nice that you look for improvement thought!

Haha I can't help it ! I am too self-critic :P

So you are trying to do one of these every day now? Or more like a flexible routine? I should do that as well, I need much more practice.

Indeed ! I am trying to do this daily, one at least ! And of course it's super flexible, not always is possible since we have lives and problems that don't allow us to go with the rhythm, but I highly recommend to do daily practices ;)

very beautiful your draw, you re so talented!

Thank you so much! =))

Very nice, Will be looking forward to your posts.

Up-voted :-)

Thank you !

That's one hell of a lady ! :D Looks sweet man.

Hahaha indeed! Wouldn't like her to be angry at me!... or maybe I do... huehuehue

Hehehe

Great work. What you consider a quick sketch would take me a few hours, so please don't discount the detail and interest that is present in these pieces! I'm definitely eager to see more!

Ohh thank you !

Great job with this. Thanks for the gif, but this is not boring at all!

Oh thank you ! I will keep posting it every 3-4 days then :3

Awesome! Looking forward to it!

This challenge seems... challenging :o
I want to try it too!

Be my guest !

Awesome drawing mate. Looks pro...

Thanks pal!

Nice drawing. If this is a quick sketch then you are really good at what you do.

You can really sense the action in this one; Full-Force Viking Warrior Princess!

Love the idea of doing ‘Everydays.’ Attempted that with Cinema 4D. What stopped me wasn’t the modelling, textures, lighting and compositing - it was the slow render times for a pretty normal 1080p image.

Either I power down and buy a new (second-hand) laptop for $1000 or save my SP, and just make a new picture every 3 days. Unless it’s After Effects! Can wack a mole with that app :p
