I created this skirt inspired by Denmark blushed sunsets. To get the exact print that I wanted I had to hand dye and paint the fabric. Just before I got to that I designed the pattern to get the shape I wanted for this skirt:)
I dyed the fabric in a gradient using: - yellow; red; fuchsia; blue and black . this was not easy because I wanted all the pattern pieces to match a stripy gradient, so it needed a lot of planning :)
After the fabric dried it looked like a watercolor wash with irregular splashes that I loved because it looked very organic.
I went in and handpainted some details to make the stripes of the gradient look like skylines.
In the end this is how the final product looked like and I was pleased with the result, I hope you like it too :P
I posted about this project some while ago, and I promised than I will come back with more details about the skirt creation.
