CATERPILLAR

Hello my friends! In these days without electricity I have started with the drawing, and today I will publish the result of an afternoon of leisure, well used for a bit of art. Thank you always for the help you give to artists within the Steemit community, the following communities:

cervantes, @c-squared, @mayvileros, @la-colmena, @curie, @artzone, @theunion, @ocd, @art-venture. Receive a well-deserved thanks from this humble artist!

Another drawing inspired by nature, that refreshes us and fills us with life! This time it is a Caterpillar that enters the scene, although they are frowned upon by many people, they can present themselves with the most curious shapes and the most diverse colors. We always focus our attention on the beauty of butterflies, sublime winged insects, but they are nothing but ugly ducklings turned into swans, it is in its larval phase that they are known with this caterpillar aspect.

5 ORUGA (5).jpg

Curious process is not, the metamorphosis of butterflies, as they go from having a form to another completely different in every way, as it changes their way of walking, small climbing legs, on the stem and leaves of plants, to long, slender legs that use very little to walk; from having a plump body and striking colors, to a dark and slender body; developing two sets of thin wings, with millions of micro scales that give him extraordinary colors and drawings; and from eating our plants in the garden with their small jaws, to a sucking mouthpiece that consists of a long trunk that is sometimes rolled up and used to suck the flowers, catching the pollen with its legs and contributing its grain of sand to the pollination of plants.

The drawing that I show to you next is elaborated with the technique of the chiaroscuro, in this opportunity the process consisted of an initial sketch, from which I darkened the lines that would represent the darkest spots of the caterpillar, to later fill them. Now the darkest tones are finished, work the medium tones and the shadows that take away the rigidity of the drawing and give it the particularity of volume and movement, to finish with the drawing, develop the shading of the vegetation and that's it.

Here I show you step by step.

A very nice drawing of the caterpillar, @alejandrasalas :) It is a wonderful creature that really shows us that change can be magical process and this creature can grow into the beautiful, flying butterflies :D :D :D
