A Walk Down The Memory Lane
Today I am going to share pictures of some things that had a huge impact on my passion in art. My vacations end today and I spent the day going over some artworks from my childhood. Now, the following picture will come into effect later as we proceed.
But first, let me show you some of the earliest drawings that I had made as a kid which I have some memory of ( My handwriting sucked! :P ) Of course, we used to love cartoons such as Tom & Jerry, Donald Duck, Pingu, Oswald and so many more!
These books were gifted to me by my maternal uncle at the age of 5 or 6 which I don't even remember. But what I do remember is the thrill I felt when I saw that these were meant to be filled with color and the fact that they were almost my size! I instantly fell in love with them and spent hours colouring them. I might have done coloring or painting before this but this was one of the first most important point for me.
So Yes, 'This is where it all started'
Getting encouragement from my parents really made a difference to me even though I made a complete mess of the place :D Getting help from my dad in coloring and seeing him use those big artistic brushes to paint some objects in our house was a BIG motivating factor.
( I recently discovered that my dad was really good with art stuff and won some contests too! I had always thought that none of my parents had any interest in arts! )
Another piece that I clearly remember making. The little me traced out the entire image on a sheet and colored it a little differently :)
FUN FACT: I have visited this place so many times in the past years and never knew that these books were bought from this very place 15 years ago!
As the years passed, my collection of artfiles started to compile and now I have a bunch of them! We would also get these from our school and my brother ended up giving them to me EVERY YEAR as they were useless to him. :D
Let's talk a little about the first picture now, shall we?
I also developed a serious interest in anime. Card Captor Sakura was my favourite among them and I started sketching the characters. Slowly, I was able to sketch them just from my memory! This was also the time I first experimented sketching directly with ball pens which I have continued doing all these years.
The end of my schooling was the phase where all my activities in art went dormant. I had to completely shift my focus on studies as the system in my school did not really support all of this. But after my schooling I resumed with where I had left off, and now I continue to learn more and more everyday. And I don't ever wanna stop, no matter what :)
It feels really satisfying to take a look at all these little milestones and understand how they have shaped my life. Let me know some of your important memories that might have helped you in building your passion! Or anything else that have been crucial in your lifetime :)
Keep Creating
Lots of Love <3

I too was getting the same Jumbo coloring books for my son @firepower, since he was 3 or 4 years old. I must search for it now. :)

It's always nice to see old drawings and how you came to be as an artist @aishwarya. Gives me chills thinking about my own work in the past. :]
Good to reconnect with you @raizel :)

wow.. you still have your artwork.. that's crazy.. and must say you had some amazing skills :)
Yep, saved as much I could :P
Thank you so much, that's so sweet of you :)
My niece has an INTEREST in anime, too.
She used to draw & color for hours as a child in ND (No. Dakota).
Isn't it neat that u DISCOVERED that yr dad had an Affinity for #ART & had even won some contests?
I was encouraged by my dad (in #artistry). 1 of my earliest was a picture of 2 poodles. Today I enjoy it still (#Landscapes, flowers, birds/horses/dogs/cats etc ).
I also really like to #draw old Barns - I even bought a book about the topic.
ISN'T that cool?
[I enjoy drawing 'things with lines' in them, thus i like to do barns, homes, etc ]

Hello my steemians fellow,
He're I dedicate and promote to you one of my article Today, to introduce a dessert menu from my country, Aceh, Indonesia. The unique and almost rare dessert, who is called "Tapee". "Tapee Buleukat Adang" is one of the favorite dessert or appetizers of the ancient Kings of Aceh.
Very nice and yummy. If you fail when trying to make it at home, sometime if you come to Aceh, you should taste this menu. I will take you to my "tapee" shop, or I'd ask to my mother to make it special for you. The "tapee" that's made by my mom, guaranteed you will not regret it.
Welcome to Aceh, the heaven of various delicious food left on earth. Enjoy my post > https://steemit.com/food/@adly.jailani/myfoodadventure-2-or-tapee-buleukat-adang-the-unique-desert-from-aceh
