Do you know any atypical therapy?
At some each of us in our life have or will do some kind of therapy, the process that helps us treat certain existential injuries, discomforts or crises. Currently, there are many types of therapy that are designed in detail for each person, equipment and even domestic and wild animals, some may include drugs, as others include blue light to relax. Surprising not?
Today I bring you the Art Therapy, yes, the inclusion of art in healing processes, it is not a secret that these practices have deep effects on the being and have become fundamental in the cognitive, psychomotor and spiritual development. In fact, USA has a special program for soldiers, which helps them with post-war stress and other traumatic events.
Art therapy mainly uses in the plastic arts with the aim of improving communication, personal and sentimental expression, observing the reflexive process and behavior of the person, in this case the final work to be admired will be is the individual beyond the paintings and other pieces performed by him through therapy. Thanks to this, other disciplines and tools have been introduced as part of what is now called artistic therapy; Dance, music, color, shape, textures and line are elements used for personal and creative development, where the person has a special space to discover, demonstrate and strengthen their skills.
Artistic therapies are tools for personal development, through them the individual can generate a creative attitude towards their own life and their ability to transform and enrich their environment at the same time. They invite you to go into a creative room where your inner world is the protagonist and allows you to identify, to strengthen your skills and powers, through different artistic disciplines. It's like: express your inner artist to help you feel better externally.
The need to know other spaces, people, dynamics and goals, I joined to several professionals and together we developed: "Cine con Sentido" = Cinema with Sense, yes, as you imagine, we did the film therapy:
Julio César Montalvo who has given development and application to this technique to work problems such as addictive behaviors or Alzheimer's. In his own words, "the main objective of film therapy is the modification of disruptive behaviors and the direction towards new mental states that recover the virtuous emotional states of the subject, that enhance their self-knowledge and contribute to develop habits, abilities and behaviors, oriented to the healthy psycho-emotional development of the individual. "
Understanding this, with Sarina Brazón: Wellness coach and yoga teacher, Greece García: psychologist and philosopher, Andy Nuñez and Yuli Lemus from Tempestad Theater; We gathered 16 people in the activity: "Cinema with Sense, because to go beyond, you have to to see beyond." Its name come from as an incentive for the promotion of meetings to the reflection and action of fulfilling purposes.
This first activity started with a dynamic to meet and introduce ourselves, then we went to the movie theater unexpectedly set for spectators, where each one took the seat of their choice. Once they were comfortable, with the instructions given we play the movie, which had 2 pauses, intervention and dynamics according to the scenes and the speaker of the moment.
Grecia García, made the first pause, where she addressed the issue of the existential crisis, how to recognize it, showing the importance of going with professionals and using the recommended techniques. After an hour came the second pause, it was the moment of Sarina Brazón, who highlighted the value of spiritual food, explained techniques such as meditation, its variants, the singing of mantras, among others. Once the film was finished, it was my turn to talk about how to go through a crisis, with the help of the different tools presented we can develop professional results, adding the fact of how the character is forged and self-esteem grows. That said, do you know which movie we watched? Indeed, all this dynamics was designed according to the film: Eat, Pray, Love. Which always leaves a different teaching every time you watched it.
Once the film was over, we went to action, several of the techniques given by the professionals were previously put into practice: from cognitive exploration, feeding faith and setting short, medium and long term goals . To close, the participants had the opportunity to express their experience, feelings and motivations, all very satisfied, surprised and eager to meet their goals.
Personally I enjoyed it very much since the first meeting, the hugs of farewell and cleaning of the space, was the reunion with myself as a speaker, which I greatly appreciate because I was not in front of the stage for a long time and thanks to that I could remember how well I It makes me feel and how much I like it.
Officially, Cinema with Sense was the first contact of many there with the artistic therapy , after that many of them began their dream map; It is the evidence that we are canvases in process and we have an inner artist to explore, develop and promote.
