The Officers Training Academy, Gaya marked another historical day on the 14 Jun 2014, as it conducted the fifth passing out parade of Special Commission Officers course serial -32 and Technical Entry Scheme course serial- 29.
This young prestigious training institution which was raised on 18th July 2011 at Gaya, Bihar is the third Pre- Commission training institution of the Indian Army for training the Officer cadre. Lt Gen GS Bisht, Vishisht Seva Medal is presently the Commandant of this coveted Academy.
Lt Gen Philip Campose, Ati Vishisht Seva Medal and Bar, Vishisht Seva Medal, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Command took the salute as the Reviewing Officer. Also present were a large number of military and civil dignitaries and the proud parents of the Gentlemen Cadets.
a Multi Activity Display having sky diving, dare devil stunts on motor cycles, Equitation, PT display etc., were organised and witnessed by one and all on 13 Jun 14. Later in the evening a Dinner Night for the Reviewing Officer and other distinguished guests along with passing out officers was organised.
The passing out parade was followed with “Pipping and an Oath taking Ceremony”, a very emotional moment for the Gentleman Cadets and their parents, who face such an occasion only once in their lifetime. The long rigorous training at the Academy marks this occasion as the beginning of their career as Officers in the Indian Army and it is a moment filled with joy and happiness for them and their proud parents.
