Make Love Not War

involvement in the war in Iraq is seen as controversial in many ways by many people. After Al Qaeda’s attack on America on 9/11, America felt targeted by Middle Eastern countries so in order to prevent being attacked again, America decided that is was best to go to war. This decision has been question by not only Iraqi’s but also by Americans. Many Americans have been questioning the decision for years and are almost begging for the war to end.

Ever since the war began 4,444 American soldiers have died and 32,051 soldiers have been seriously injured. The large amount of casualties is a big reason why Americans hate the war. Because all of these deaths not only affected America as a country, but more importantly it affects those brave soldiers who risk their lives of America and all of their families. Many organizations have been set up in order to donate to war victims, but the affect is still felt throughout the country.

I believe that the war is Iraq should be ended. I can sort of understand America’s reason for going to war in the first place because they wanted to make sure not more terrorist attacks occur, but I believe that they should have taken more time to see if there was another alternative. Even though revenge may seem like a good idea, in the end American’s may have been hurt more in the end. Not only due to the casualties but also because of the reaction that the Middle Eastern countries had and also the critisms that America is getting from opposing countries. Even though America likes to fight fire with fire, they should have thought about the long term consequences and not just the short term prosperity.

Yes, you speak truth, but maybe those wars are endless. In Afganistan war is running more than 15 years.
