Mar. 24, 23: Routine, Quest, Crashing, TV, and Games

[Once again there weren't any new fractals available on Pixabay, so I went over to Nightcafe and created this one with "geometric pattern spiral." Not as neat as the last one, but it's definitely not a repeat. 😛]

Got to bed a bit late last night, around ten, and was up four times during the night moving out to the couch around two or so. I did make it all the way until nearly seven, though, which put me over my eight hour goal. 👍

Can't think of too much interesting happening during the morning routine, just the same ol' stuff I do every morning: curation, pings, emails, click some buttons to earn crypto, click lots more buttons to earn a little more crypto 😜, nothing major.

Did my usual glance at the crypto markets and we had a mixed bag. Little green, little red but only a few percent either way. Nice to see BTC back above $28k but it seems like HIVE can't even be bothered to be dragged along with it and went contrary instead, now below $.4...I'm tempted to see how Doge compares. 😝

It had been several days since I'd had the courage to check on my Polygon investments, and seeing that divergence with ETH rising and MATIC falling I really should have known better, but I did go in to take a peek...losing a solid .6 ETH again. Goddammit!!!! 😭🤬

It's now when I regret being greedy/hopeful and not taking the loss when it was only like .2. 😡😤 All I can do again now is keep sitting on my bags and pray...I think BRO and LGN make up the difference, but until I'm finally able to get out, the wound is still open.

Worked on my post for the day (many button clicks) and got a decent one published and shared and then was faced with deciding what to accomplish for this go round the Sun.

I guess the main goal (really the only goal, actually...a little sad, but nevermind) for today was to get my crypto wallet taken care of. I think it was like four days ago that I discovered Jaxx was ending and it kept randomly popping in my head, giving me an anxiety attack, and then I'd get distracted again and forget.

I'd definitely had enough of the repeated panic attacks, and nothing else really to do today, and there was only a couple of days left before it went kaput and I'd be out of luck if anything went wrong, so the confluence made it imperative.

I did learn, when I was first looking into it, that it wasn't necessary to transfer everything to another wallet, it was possible to restore with the keys in other wallets. Jaxx recommended (and gave instructions for) Exodus and Edge wallets and I actually had an Exodus wallet on my old phone, but never had a balance in there, so was already familiar.

It looked like Edge wallet would not support ZCash, and while I don't have much of that I do have some, so that was the deciding factor and I chose to go with Exodus. Not too bad, actually, just had to dig out my keys and then there was that heart-wrenching, gut-churning couple minutes between when I hit the "cannot undo, are you sure?" button and when it finally synced up and displayed my balances.

Everything came up smoothly, though, and not only that, I discovered that I had some 0x in there that I'd forgotten about. 🤑 Decided to give it a test (probably unnecessary, but peace of mind) and I created a MATIC wallet and sent some over that I had sitting in my Wombat wallet. No problems. 👍 I still really should get it all into my Ledger, but it's alright for now; crisis averted.

Speaking of Wombat wallet, I've actually been using it a lot more lately, not just for WombPlay games and Dungeon Master, but for creating my NFT collection and investing in NEFTY and messing around with transfers and stuff as well. Since I'm VIP 2 staking WOMBAT, all the EOS and WAX fees are paid for...doesn't get better than free! 😁

Anyway, having gotten that all done, I couldn't resist the call of Drop Dead. I guess I'm one of the only people around who has the luxury of playing VR in the middle of the day on a Friday since I just sat there waiting for a match and finally got annoyed and did a couple solo runs. The battery died and I was forced to quit out, though. 😢

That was alright, since it was lunchtime anyway and I gave the animals their lunch and got my usual sandwich. I'm not sure what the deal was since I've been feeling alright lately (not really been running short on sleep) but I hit the wall massively hard. I'm not even sure how long I crashed out...a good hour at least, maybe two. 😧

I was a bit slow to get up and never really woke up a hundred percent, but I didn't feel too terrible, nothing a little sugar couldn't fix. I still had a couple hours before Wenche was home from work, so I did at least take care of the dishes in the sink and emptied the dishwasher but then just jumped back into VR.

This time I decided to finally try playing with the headset plugged in and I used the new six foot cable I got for the phone and moved the five volt adapter over closer to where I sit.

From what I had read, it wouldn't be enough to play continuously, it would just extend the battery life, but it seemed to work OK. I just need to figure out cable management; I put it over my shoulder, but it kept falling off and pulling at me, so I eventually shoved it down the back of my shirt and that worked better but isn't really a solution. 🤔

Wenche came home around about that time and she made us breaded chicken and rice and salad for dinner. 😋 She had some kind of political drama show on that didn't really interest me and I pretty much just got ready for bed and paced some laps around the house watching Nile Red videos to try and finish out my steps.

I did still have some steps left, though, and I did cheat at the end (shame) watching some Married with Children before falling asleep.

Oh, that's right...she ordered this water fountain thing for the animals. The dog seems to be scared of it, which is weird, but the cat took to it right away, which was the whole point. Hopefully he'll stop yelling at us in the middle of the night for water even though there's plenty in his bowl (he wants running water).

[Dude, for real, I basically slept and played video games...how I managed to transform that into seventeen hundred words amazes even myself! 🤯]

Splinterlands:
My Splinterlands rental income jumped by another twenty cents to a dollar eighty for today. I do have a bit of liquid from the DEC I just pulled out (though spent some on the TeamPH pool and got and staked some more PIMP), so letting that balance build up again for now.

My prepay balance was getting low yesterday, but it was enough to cover the fee for the day, and I used my SPS interest claim to top that up again (didn't make the mistake of pulling it out this time 😛).

Not too bad a racket I got going over here, though...sit on tokens, interest pays the rental fee (plus some extra tokens on Genesis League), and the rental income is gravy; pretty sustainable as long as they don't go changing stuff up on me. And, added bonus, I don't actually have to play it! 😜🤣

dShitty:
Even with a crisis in dShitty today (which reduced my income by three) I still got forty-one SIM! 🤑 I spawned another Student, so I think that may be what caused it to increase. Whatever the reason, I'll take it!

The HIVE income went up by another one-thousandth as well...not going to get rich any time soon, but it's all just piling onto Solairitas' stake, and bigger is better.

Ran a couple missions on Rising Star today and I will admit that the site is running much faster now they've transferred to a new server. 👍 I guess there's some special Easter mission coming up, but I can't be bothered to jump through the hoops. Otherwise, just grinding towards an unknown goal...I suppose the next mission and then the next one after that?

Happened to see an announcement from these guys...I guess they're chucking more NFTs at people for being involved in other communities. From what I read I should get two, one from PIZZA amd one from WOO land, but they'll probably not honor the WOO land since the Cartel bought it, not me directly. Don't really care, to be honest, but the more I have to dump out at the end of the day the more likely I am to break even.

GLX:
Looks like the price of GLX has risen slightly, but it's still too low, relatively speaking, for my tastes and I'm just staking it all. I miss that extra bit coming in every day, though, have had to tighten the purse strings a little, but hoping that (despite believing it unlikely) my patience will pay off later.

WOO:
Went in a claimed my daily stake and delegation rewards. Seems like they're a bit lower today, but that's probably because I claimed a little earlier than yesterday.

You'd think that every once in a while, just by random chance, I'd hit a mining reward, but I guess my chances are so slim by comparison to everyone else that it never seems to happen any more. 😢
