The theater and cinema buildings in Asmara are marble with Roman pillars, but the restoration of the ancient building is hampered by the problems of domestic funds and experts. The historical city of Asmara stands some 700 years ago. At that time there were four clans living there. When the area was raided by bandits, women encouraged men to unite against the attack.

After winning, the place was given a new name, Arbaete Asmara, which literally means 'four united parties'. Over time, the word Arbaete is removed so as to stay Asmara, which has nothing to do with love. According to the data, 50 percent of the people there are Catholics, 48 percent Muslim, while the rest are local believers.
