DELORDINAIRE is a studio of architecture and design tailor-made, based in Paris. Through its projects, the studio seeks to combine a fully custom architecture, in symbiosis with the daily rituals of the contemporary world.
PSLab designs tailor-made luminaires, manufactured in their own workshops. DELORDINAIRE has designed an atypical workspace in Stuttgart, emphasizing an immersive experience in custom lighting design. It encourages hands-on experience and creative communication between designers, manufacturers and customers around a range of unusual features (including design studio, office, kitchen, dining room and library).
The design of DELORDINAIRE is structured around a monolith of 20 m long and 90 cm high occupying the center of the space. The monolith emerges a powerful yet soothing presence and brings unity to the diverse range of activities. The expanse of the top of the monolith serves as a constantly evolving workspace, a presentation area and a simple office. The monolith is punctuated by a series of cross sections, channels allowing everyone to easily move from one end of the space to another. Each of these channels has a different function. The space is characterized by a great diversity of movements and activities coexisting in parallel.
