Brickface

in #architecture7 years ago

Brickface is a compact building located at the back of an existing home in the Richmond district of Melbourne, Australia. It consists of a garage on the ground floor, a living room / guest suite on the first floor, and a roof terrace.

Built from recycled bricks, the structure is a secure and secure fastener that presents a character that seems to have existed well before other buildings along the street. The real estate market in Melbourne has experienced such inflation that a whole generation is not only unable to buy a house, but also to find affordable housing for rent. Nevertheless, existing homes are very often built on spacious grounds, so many homeowners create a second home, a fully independent house / studio, in their backyard with a frontage facing the street, where their grown-up children can live during their studies or at the beginning of their working life. Brickface is one of these new homes and it could not be more successful! At the same time modern, spacious, colorful and perfectly integrated in its environment.
