OPEN HOUSE SATURDAY .. Mid-Century Streng Bros. Home .. Sacramento County, California

I am not sure if any of you know but I happen to be a realtor :) I specialize in Sacramento and Placer Counties in California. My husband and I have been in the Business for 27+ years .. making us Veterans to the ever changing markets.

I held a GORGEOUS home open Saturday .. Happens to be a Mid-Century Streng Bros. home in the City of Natomas, CA (Sacramento County). I have always had a love for Streng Bros. homes and am excited because they are really close to being deemed "HISTORIC". "Streng Bros. Homes has been recognized as one of the most important post-war Builders in California".

I want to share some history with you on the Streng Bros. homes to get you excited also.

Streng Bros. homes are "Architecturally Designed for California Valley Living" by Carter Sparks, Architect. The span of build in Sacramento County runs from 1964 to the late 1980's. These Mid-Century homes built by Streng Bros. have many unique characteristics to them specific to Streng Bros builds such as: Low pitched roofs, wood beams, high windows, skylights and indoor atriums/terrariums, and exposed aggregate interior flooring .. the atriums/terrariums are typically located in the family room/living room areas. The Streng homes were designed to uniquilly suit the hot Sacramento Valley .. The interior atrium is domed with tinted acrylic to block the heat and the interior aggregate flooring enhances coolness .. The many large windows which are located up at the ceiling height allows for much filtered sunlight without the "hotbox" effect. These unique homes are not your cookie-cutter tract homes.
