Morris' general store has been servicing the needs of the Swansea community and visitors from 1838 to today. Built of bluestone and brick, i hope this place continuse well into the future being a great Tasmanian landmark.

Any idea why there are doors on the 2nd and 3rd level at all? Interesting building!
Yes if you look above the two doors on the left side there is a lifting beem hanging out. They can put a pully system on that and lift big items in or out of those doors.

Yes the same as it is used today local goods and food etc shop.

Old buildings like these are so well built and sturdy. Seems like the buildings built nowadays are so much more fragile, lacking in quality materials and architecture.
That would be true for most new buildings.

And it is still the biggest building in Swansea.
