This photograph for me, sums up the meaning of the word 'Skyscraper'. It's not a word you hear very often these days. Most people call these structures. 'High rise buildings' which I think takes something away from these beautiful structures. The phrase 'High rise building' has a negative connotation in many peoples minds these days and for good reason. In the past many of these types of structures were often built as housing and were ill conceived, poorly constructed and maintained.I like the reflections on this building. With the clouds on one face and another skyscraper reflected on the other face. I took this photograph from the car (passenger seat) as we were travelling through downtown Dubai. There are so many astonishing buildings in this country. It is an architects dream location as you can build just about whatever you can envision. The Dubai government is building the skyscrapers of the future. There are many more massive structures planned and in construction already.More architectural examples in the this series.Dubai International Finance Centre

Futuristic buildingsIt literally is scraping the sky onto it's surface. It's almost as if it disappears from view as it blends in with the sky.
