Apple Inc. unveiled the most highly anticipated new iPhone last night. CEO Tim Cook launched multiple iPhones, a LTE-enabled Watch, and an upgraded Apple TV streaming video box. Wall Street remains mostly optimistic as shares already up in 2017, so the device had to live up to high expectations.
On the 10th anniversary of the iPhone, expectations were for the company to deliver a device with a relatively more robust set of upgraded features and believe Apple generally met most of the expectations such as edge-to-edge, glass OLED screen and 3D sensing (enabling facial recognition) as the major upgrades.
The iPhone X has advanced 3D-sensing, display, camera, and augmented reality technologies that have never been available in consumer devices. These will help retain the leadership position and grow its user base for the next decade.
Apple does live up to the expectations.
Whoa! 10 years since 1st iPhone
