Agreed. I think God was pretty smart. It's interesting that this "rest" doesn't apply to just humans. He includes the animals and even the land. God knew that if you harvested non-stop that the soil would go bad. He wanted to give the land a break to allow it to become nutrient-rich again for further farming.
That being said, at least 1 day of rest is good. But for Christians, that day is the Sabbath (Saturday).
You're right. Sunday is the 1st day of the week. Traditionally Christians look at Sunday as the "Christian Sabbath" and Saturday as the "Jewish Sabbath." But the Bible never records such a thing as a "Jewish Sabbath." The Sabbath was made for mankind. It was made Holy on the very 1st week of creation. This is why the 4th commandment mentions creation. It's reminding us that this goes back that far.

Although we made a Sunday out of it. I always learned the Sunday is the first day of the week.
