“Are you on Steem?”
“Steam? You mean the site for games? ..”
It’s been a year since my account was created this day with me peeking over the shoulder at the code. I am really glad it turned out to be Steem not Steam, because this has been the most fun and creative game ever!
At first, I thought no way I am writing this post seeing this milestone approaching, but if we are not celebrating this milestone, what do we celebrate? This is the milestone we all should be celebrating. What we each can accomplish during a year on Steem with our precious time resources, spice of creativity and pieces of our minds we are willing to reveal to the chain.
So why was my first instinct not to celebrate? It has been the most fun game ever after all. It also has been blood, sweat and tears. Really. It’s been messy and personal, and blurred lines with the cold, hard reality of life and lessons of human nature. It’s been the wild, wild west and I love it all nonetheless. Maybe it is also a tiny hint of oh it’s nothing really. It isn’t nothing. It is the best thing that has happened to me in a while and it really just happened. Choices, randomness, mess, right place and time, that one person, that one question. I can’t express how precious this is to me.
So what am I celebrating today? I am celebrating a year full of tiny, invisible and some very visible milestones of personal growth, pencil and brush lifting, giggling, silly hedgehog cartoons and other creations of mine, work on progress, probably my first few grey hair, the good fight for original, authentic and undervalued content and being part of @ocd curation team, glimpses of you, finished not perfect, all the miles I’ve run, chances, friends I’ve made here, friends I’ve dragged in here, my hundred and four post streams of consciousness and ponderings, recognizing loops and breaking some illusions, being hopefully useful and somewhat valuable part of Steem community and all the fucks given pardon the language ey!
I am grateful for Steem and all of you I’ve met along the way on the chain. Some of you also in flesh at the Steemfest and steem gatherings. So strange yet so familiar. Cheers guys!

You did it! Though I really wish the down market and SMT FUD didn't overshadow everyone's birthaversary like that... I need to strategize so my next birthaversary is a buying spree, not a holding mourn.
I'm digressing pretty badly. Thanks for being here for so long and sticking through the tough times as well as the great times. I'm glad your content is part of my semi-weekly post flow.

Thank you. I know for sure I wouldn't have accomplished half of it if it wasn't for Steem. The impact is quite awesome. Wouldn't trade it for anything :)

Happy Steemit Birthday @m31! We must have joined at almost the same time, I think my One Year mark was June 19th. There's been a lot of ups and downs over the past year and so many of our "classmates" left Steemit entirely for various reasons.
It's been exhilarating, depressing, fun, frustrating --- but more than anything, it has been worth it.

Congrats! Really nice end song by the way and I love the sketches so never stop those. It really is blood sweat and tears isn't it, but worth it. Really a nice journey that I am also thoroughly starting to enjoy.
