I decided to send my own entry to an anime drawing challenge by @htliao

So as I’ve promised, I will post some of my drawings and digital fanarts. Mind you, I am not that good with coloring and I’m certainly not that good at digital art. But I still tried my best and found good results that exceeded my own expectations.

The drawing that is shown above is a fanart of an anime character that I really love. The name of the character is Nishinoya Yuu from the sports anime Haikyuu!!

I drew this character because I really love his spirit. Despite his short stature in the game of volleyball where height is a huge advantage, he still pursues his passion for the sport. He is the Libero for the main team, Karasuno where the series is focused on.

I really like him for the fact that he is a humorous ball of energy wherein whenever he is around he ignites the passion within his teammates and gives them good vibes throughout the game. He also supports his team in any way that is possible for him. He is an amazing Libero you can trust and a good senpai you can always rely on in matches. (though he might be too loud when paired with his best buddy Tanaka Ryuunosuke.)

I use Paint Tool SAI for my digital art because it’s easy to use and convenient for a beginner like me.

I’m still not that good at Paint Tool SAI. As you can see, I didn’t organize my layers so I can’t really show you the step by step process of my work. Do know that I did this art during summer vacation last year so this is just a revisit of what I did that summer.

This is the original drawing where I based the digital art. I don’t like how I do coloring with my bare hands so I just left the drawing blank with just the use of pencil. I know it takes practice to master things so I’m taking it slow right now. I’m practicing my shading and body proportion because I greatly lack in consistency with my drawings.

I still need to work on my drawing skills, I know that for a fact. But I will still keep on drawing as long as I am inspired to draw.
