Anime Drawing Challenge – Nakajima Atsushi (Bungou Stray Dogs) digital fanart

Yohoo! It’s me again, @rakerumon. Back with another digital anime fanartf for @htliao’s anime drawing challenge.

Nakajima Atsushi

I finally found my files for some of my digital art and I just couldn’t wait to share this step by step digital art process with you guys.

First off the character that I drew is Nakajima Atsushi from the anime Bungou Stray Dogs. Actually, I recently just finished cosplaying this character and I just want to share this drawing with you guys for the sake of showing off my love for this series and this character.

I love this character because he is soo anxious about his worth in life, same as what I feel sometimes. His character resonates with me in a way that is very disturbing. To add to it his character changes into a man eating white tiger beneath the light of the moon, my zodiac sign is also a tiger. (coincidence? I think…. Not!)

This character and the series in general is very interesting because they feature some of the most well-known literary authors all throughout history. There most famous works will most likely be the bases of their superhuman powers which make things even cooler.

Nakajima Atsushi Drawing Process

I started off with doing the line art for the drawing.

I couldn’t find my sketchbook where I originally draw this so I can’t show it here.

Next, I started coloring his hair.

His hair is somewhat the color beige of a faint blonde-ish color. I don’t know the exact name of the color.

Eye coloring

I really love the color of this characters eyes because his eyes has two colors separated by an arch in his inner eye making it look like his eye color is fading into a different color.

Background and detail work

I am not that good at backgrounds so I made up a bland background. But it looks nice enough.

Coloring his pants.

I don’t remember why I separated the layers for his pants.

Skin Coloring

I almost forgot to color his skin because I really can’t distinguish the colors because my laptop screen is weird. It gave of a finished look but when I sent it to my phone he looked really pale.

Using Paint Tool SAI

I still used PT SAI because it’s easy to use instead of photoshop. It’s clearly for beginners use and it helps you ease into the field of digital art. Though I might still be a noob and I may still need to learn tricks with this program, I’m slowly getting the hang of it.

And that my friends are the painstaking process of my Nakajima Atsushi digital fan art. Hope you liked it and I’m really glad to share this with you guys.

This is your friendly neighborhood otaku steemian,
