Aiolia is a character from the manga and anime Saint Seiya known as The Knights of the Zodiac and protagonist of the Spin-offs Episode G and Soul of Gold. He is the younger brother of Aiolos, despite his somewhat explosive personality, he has a pure heart that quickly identifies justice, that is why he was one of the first saints to recognize the authority of Athena. As his brother Aiolos was labeled a traitor, Aiolia felt an obligation to clear the name of the family by swearing allegiance to the Kyōkō and even willingly participating in the extermination of the "rebellious" Bronze Saints.
During the battle with the wraiths, he confronted the enemy army and brought down many of them, serving as the central attack power in the Sanctuary. He died at the Western Wall to help the Bronze Saints cross into the Champs-Elysees.
Features
Appearance
Aiolia is a tall young man with blond hair (chestnut in the anime) and something wavy and not very long, with the exception of his fringe and bushy sideburns and his eyebrows are thick , well defined and of a brown tone. In Episode G his hair is reddish, this reason was because he painted himself so that he would not be confused with his brother Aiolos, who was considered a traitor. His eyes are green blue. His complexion is tanned, cinnamon color, unlike his brother who is pale. When you don't wear your armor, Aiolia dresses in a costume of aspiring Santo, a white dress, using less bulky armor than his Cloth with few metallic and leather protections strategically mixed, a belt of the same material, knee protectors , a pair of leather bracelets that protect your forearms and a pair of Greek boots.
In Saint Seiya Soul of Gold your civilian clothing undergoes slight changes when showing a lighter armor than your previous clothes, with a leather breastplate with smooth and round shoulder pads, a pair of bracelets and a belt of the same material and Greek shoes.
In the movie Legend of Sanctuary has a very significant change, its color of hair and eyes is the same as the anime, but it is given a more mature appearance, adding a small beard and a piercing under the mouth.
Personality
Aiolia is one of the most noble and courageous Saints of the Golden Order. Always willing to fight for justice. He has a serene and grandiose character which makes him pleasant and easy to treat among his comrades. However, when the situation is extremely delicate and there is an evil in between, Aiolia becomes an impetuous, violent and aggressive being who will not hesitate to attack at the slightest provocation, as described by Giganto in the Hades Saga. :"It's like a golden lion that shows its fangs".
Aiolia has a deep respect for his older brother Aiolos, who apart from being his only relative, was the person who trained him to become a Golden Saint. This is why, when Aiolos is accused of high treason for having "tried to murder" Athena, Aiolia swears to go to the last consequences to clear the name of his brother.
Aiolia also maintains a strong bond of friendship with Seiya, since when he had decided to defect from his training after listening to some aspiring Saints, he said that he would never become one. for the fact of being Japanese, it was Aiolia himself who interceded for Seiya to give him encouragement and so he could continue with his training. Marin de Águila describes him as a being with a warm and gentle heart, and with a strong sense of justice.
Aiolia has proven to be strong enough to face Virgo Shaka just after having faced Gemini Saga and, being on equal terms with him, could be considered as one of the most powerful, due to his courage, courage, strength and speed, but his lack of cold blood makes him look too impulsive, Aiolia was seen with an air of arrogance and superiority when the enemy was inferior, but very respectful when the enemy was up to the task, kept with a series of characteristics in his defensive face that is to say when he felt a danger Aiolia was like a being Arrogant, aggressive, impulsive, a being that is easily offended and very complacent as well as susceptible.
History
Before the 12 Houses
At the age of 7 Aiolia had already become a golden knight, wearing his armor at such an early age as other "young" golden knights.
After the imposture of the patriarch and the escape of Aiolos from the sanctuary, Aiolia was marginalized and pointed out by the other knights and inhabitants of the sanctuary as "the traitor's brother", a situation that brought him aspersions with his companions, as can be seen with Milo de Scorpio in his meeting with the patriarch.
Training: According to the anime and the Spin-off Episode G Aiolia was trained by his brother Aiolos de Sagitario. But nothing is said of his teacher or his training in the original manga.
During the civil war of the Sanctuary
Aiolia is one of the first Golden Saints to appear, showing himself as a friend / acquaintance of Marin and who sometimes gave words of knowledge and little teachings to Seiya, but his rank would not be revealed until later when offered instead of Milo of Scorpio on a mission to kill Seiya and the other Bronze Saints for rebelling against the Shrine. Aiolia decided to depart only to that mission by supporting Milo with "two golden knights were too many against five bronze knights."
The Saint of Leo attacks the hospital where Seiya was and in the process seriously wounds Shaina of Ophiuchus. Seiya becomes enraged and attacks him without success until a group of Silver Saints commanded by Sirius de Can Major who had sneaked out to watch over Aiolia since the Patriarch distrusted him, they decide with their hands to finish the work for which Aiolia He had been entrusted. The three silver saints unload all their power against Seiya who, seeing himself in danger unexpectedly wears the Armor of Sagittarius thanks to which he easily ends with the three Silver Saints, with the power of the spirit of Aiolos still in it. Seiya with the help of the spirit of Aiolos decides to face Aiolia and just at that moment Saori makes his appearance revealing to Aiolia the truth about the Patriarch to whom he has sworn allegiance. The Golden Saint is impressed by the words of the young woman is not fully convinced by what requires a test: if it is really Athena, she will resist his Lightning Bolt and if that does not happen, Saori will die. Seiya, noting that Aiolia is serious, comes between the two, stopping Aiolia's powerful technique with the indirect help of the spirit of Aiolos, making the golden saint see that, no matter if she is a goddess or not, raising her fists against a woman It is aberrant. Helped by the cosmos of Aiolos, Seiya returns his attack on Aiolia and that is when he realizes that Saori Kido is the true Athena swore loyalty. At that moment, the spirit of his brother is manifested by reprimanding him for his actions against the Goddess. After this he goes to the Sanctuary so that Shaina recovers.
Confrontation in the Patriarch's room
When arriving with the Patriarch, Aiolia reproaches to him that the true Athenian is not in Greece but in Japan. Finding himself discovered, the Patriarch attacks Aiolia, but he answers his attacks by showing off his power. It is at that moment when Virgo Shaka appears and both begin to fight demonstrating how even they were in their power at all times; This fight is exploited by the Patriarch who attacks Aiolia by surprise with his Imperial Satan.
Aioria is in a state of mental instability, as it will be until he receives the first blow from his enemy, so he is tortured between the mind control of Saga and his conscious side that knows the truth.
Battle of the 12 Houses
In the House of Leo, Aiolia tries to kill Seiya, since he is possessed by the Imperial Satan of the Patriarch. Seiya who was at a serious disadvantage since one of his legs was fractured during the fight, can not against the power of Leo's Golden Saint until Cassios intervenes and interrupts the carnage; this in the end dies at the hands of a bloodthirsty Aiolia. The former candidate for Santo sacrifices himself to get Aiolia released from the curse that afflicted him and Seiya can be saved.
Released, Aiolia apologizes to Seiya and covers Cassios' body with his Golden Saint cloak, promising that his death will not be in vain. At the same time he warns the Bronze Saints not to let the Virgo Saint, Shaka, open their eyes.
Holy War against Poseidon
In the manga, Aiolia easily kills Poseidon's marine soldiers who tried to kidnap Athena. While later, when the Bronze Saints were fighting with the God of the Seas, try to go fight with them, Mu de Aries tries to stop him and reminds him that by orders of Dohko de Libra (interim leader of the Sanctuary after the death of the Patriarch) the Golden Saints must remain on guard in their Houses as a new danger approaches the Sanctuary and warns him to kill him if he insists on leaving. Aiolia, very defiant face it to hear such a threat.
*
When it was thought that both would start a fight, the spirit of Aiolos of Sagittarius sends his Sacred Clothes along with that of Camus of Aquarius to the Marine Sanctuary of Poseidon. Aiolia smiles and exclaims that not even a direct order from the Elder Master could stop the spirit of his brother Aiolos.
Holy war against Hades
Aiolia is in charge of eliminating five of the specters that had entered the Sanctuary, and when he was going to kill the rest, he becomes distracted by feeling familiar cosmos (the cosmos of Saga of Gemini, Shura of Capricorn and Camus of Aquarius disguised as ghosts) what is taken advantage of by Raimi de Gusano who holds it for minutes. Although the Golden Saint has no problems in eliminating it.
Later it conforms the Athena Exclamation next to Milo of Scorpio and Mū de Aries, the trio fights against Saga, Shura and Camus after these they killed to Shaka of Virgo. The fight is interrupted by Athena and Aiolia goes along with Mu and Milo to the Castle of Hades, there despite his persistence is defeated and thrown (along with Mu and Milo) to Cocito by Wyvern's Radamanthys, because every enemy that was in the Castle of Hades (due to a barrier can only use 10% of its power).
