As every year the Japanese company Oricon, which provides sales statistics in relation to the entertainment industry (music, books, mangas, DVDs), has published a ranking of sales manga the past fiscal year, November 21, 2016 as of November 19, 2017. These reference figures provide an idea of the state of the market as well as the best-selling securities in Japan.
Data
Note that this year Oricon has released a top 10 "series" and a top 50 "volume", while in previous years we had respectively a top 30 and a top 100. Consequence: we move from a horizon of the market composed of 65 last year's series to 20 series this year, and therefore to a much smaller magazine, focused on bestsellers.
As with the results for the first half of 2017, the two rankings published by Oricon were completed by three other types of rankings based on these same figures.

First, a series ranking according to the best sale of a volume. Indeed, the series classification disadvantages the monthly prepublications, leaving fewer volumes over the same period as a weekly title; and on the other, it benefits those benefiting from a "boost" of sales on old volumes due to the recent broadcast of an animated or a live adaptation. The ranking by best sales of a volume thus makes it possible to better highlight the number of readers of a series. Finally, we have a series of tops based on publishers and pre-publication magazines.
These rankings include 20 titles, including 18 published in France, and all are over 500 000 copies for a volume. Shueisha is present with 10 titles, Kodansha with 3, Shogakukan 3, Hakusensha 1, Square Enix 1, Enterbrain 1 and Ichijinsha 1. They consist of 13 shonen (teen titles), 4 seinen (for adults), 2 shojo (for teenage girls) and 1 josei (for adult women).

Analyzes
Following a well-known trend, sales have declined compared to 2016 and few changes in the hierarchy of titles are to be observed. Of the ten best-selling series, nine were already there in 2016. Assassination Classroom is no longer present because the title ended last year, and Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic made its entry but also goodbye: the series has indeed completed this year.
In bold the headings up, in italics those down:
- One Piece: Loses 800,000 copies, but still doubles in sales compared to its challengers,
- shinji ki no kyojin (The Attack of the Titans): does not really move but the season 2 of his anime must have allowed him to stay,
- Kingdom: loses a little (- 400 000),
- My Hero Academia: rises 700,000, the effect of his animated continues to act,
- Tokyo Ghoul: re: increased by one million because this year the series published 5 volumes, against 4 last year,
- Haikyuu !! : loses 1.4 million,
- Seven Deadly Sins: loses 1.6 million, part of which because 5 volumes were published this year, compared to 6 last year,
- One Punch Man: Loses a little (- 700,000) while the series has published a tome more (3 against 2), but last year there was a "boost" because of its animated,
- Food Wars: Loses 700,000,
- Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic: 500,000 increase (for the end).
