Dragon Ball, a Japanese media franchise created by Akira Toriyama in 1984. The manga of the Franchise was later produced as a TV series by toe animation.
The series was about a young boy named Son Goku and his life. The kid was training on martial arts exploring the word searching for the 7 dragon balls. If all the 7 dragon balls were gathered together a magic dragon could be summoned named Shenron. 
The eternal Dragon would grand any wish to the one summoning him. On his long Journey Son Goku makes a lot of Friends helping him out on his quest. Goku and his friend fought against many villains and came across the distraction of the world but they always managed to defeat evil and pretend them of using the Dragon Balls for there evil plans. 
The series was produced with different names as the story was progressing:
- Dragon Ball from 1986 until 1989
- Dragon Ball Z from 1989 until 1996
- Dragon Ball GT from 1996 until 1997
- Dragon Ball Super from 2015 until ...(still going)
- Dragon Ball Z Kai from 2009 ( a remake of Dragon Ball Z with better quality and no fillers staying closer to the manga)

- Bio-Broly Released on July 9, 1994
- Fusion Reborn Released on March 4, 1995
- Wrath of the Dragon Released on July 15, 1995
- The Path to Power Released on March 4, 1996
- Battle of Gods Released on March 30, 2013
- Resurrection 'F' Released on April 18, 2015
Due to the Great Success i of the Franchise 3 more special episodes where aired:

- The History of Trunks Released on February 23, 1993
- A hero's Legacy Released on March 26, 1997
One more Special episode was aired which was a crossover with the well know anime series Toriko and one Piece. This special was called
" Dream 9 Toriko & One Piece & Dragon Ball Z super Collaboration Special!!! "
In addition to the great success the Dragon Ball Franchise had through its anime series and movies the franchise also produced a lot of video games and took its name even further.Dragon Ball is one of the most merchandisable anime based media franchises of all time.
