Why the fuck should you watch “The Lion King”?
• You want to re-live your greatest childhood memories regarding to watching movies.
• You like to watch kung-fu baboons.
• You like them animal butts.
• Your partner is mad at you for something that you did – take her/him to see the movie and then use “I doesn’t matter. It’s in the past” line for the rest of your life.
One of the most famous animated movies of all time “The Lion King” is a movie about a Lion cup Simba (voice Matthew Broderick) who’s supposed to become a king one day. Stunning visuals, camera movement, lightning, legendary soundtrack, unforgettable characters and timeless lessons about life – that all makes The Lion King a great watch for all ages.
Action movies are only as good as the villains are in them. Scar (voice Jeremy Irons) is Mufasa’s (voice James Earl Jones) brother, who wants to be the king himself, and although he’s a lot more intelligent than Mufasa, he can’t become king because he is not as strong and can’t challenge him. So Scar lives on his own, lurkes in the shadows and patiently waits for his moment. When Mufasa’s son Simba is born, Scar sees his chance and activates his master plan to kill the King. This will change everything in that kingdom and in Simba’s life.
This is a children's movie: You’ll see horrible death of Simba’s father, Nala gets her ass licked by her mother, Simba makes Nala wet (...in the lake), a brutal fight to death in the end and of course many butts. Many-many of them. Also farting. So clearly for children. Let’s hope the remake stays true to the original and gets a R-rating with today’s standards. Because nowadays all the above is for adults, but back then it was totally ok for kids to watch, and well, we turned out fine, didn’t we. I'm kidding, it's a great film for the whole family, but still, all that I mentioned above and more absolutely happens in the movie.
Anyways we learn a lot: true friends always support their friends, shit happens but life goes on, never practice your roars in a canyon, pain teaches lessons, and it’s OK to eat animals because circle of life. Any day now is the remake of "The Lion King" coming to the cinemas and we’ll see if the new movie can also remake the magic of the original. And if not – Hakuna Matata.
Why the fuck you shouldn’t watch “The Lion King”?
• You feel uneasy when characters in children’s movies say “Kill him” a lot.
• You think that the king should be the smartest not the strongest.
• You can’t stand children because they are stupid and don’t listen to their parents.
• You can’t not see that in the lion pride is only one male and a lot of females. And nala was also born in that pride and Mufasa was the only male there…so Mufasa was Simba’s father AND Simba and Nala… OMG. (You think too much, Hakuna Matata!)
