This Eid, you can’t collect animal hides in Sindh or purchase animals in Islamabad

You can’t collect animal hides this Eidul Azha in Sindh without permission. A notification has been issued by the home department banning the collection of animal hides. In Islamabad, you can’t purchase or sell animals.

According to the notification, Section 144 of the PPC has been imposed on the collection of animal hides.

Political and social welfare organisations will have to obtain the permission of Karachi commissioner or area’s deputy commissioner to collect animal hides this year.

Parties and organisations are also not allowed to set up camps for the donation of animal hides without prior approval.

Islamabad ban

The Islamabad administration has restricted the purchase and sale of sacrificial animals except in certain designated areas.

The Islamabad deputy commissioner has issued a notification that says that under Section 144 the sale and purchase of sacrificial animals in areas under the jurisdiction of the federal capital.

Keeping sacrificial animals on green belts, roads and in empty plots has also been prohibited. Cattle farmers are allowed only to sell and buy animals at specific cattle markets.

According to the deputy commissioner, legal action will be taken against violators.

The authorities say that in order to rake in more money, cattle farmers bring many animals to the city, resulting in the spread of diseases. Traffic conditions also worsen in the capital when animals are brought in.
