NEWBORN BABY CALF!

in #animals7 years ago

Yesterday, our neighbors cow gave birth to a little calf!

Since we got our own heifer a bit back, things like this are even more exciting. Eventually, we now hope to have our own baby calves born on our homestead, but for now we can rejoice with our neighbors. With cute baby animals being born, even if they are larger animals, who can’t help but be happy and enjoy it?

The whole pregnancy and delivery process is amazing just to ponder, but to watch a new mother with her calf is beautiful on a whole different level. Hopefully, everything works out well for this pair and the baby grows up into a healthy, strong cow. Time will tell!

I just wanted to share a small pile of cute photos with you all! I hope that you enjoyed them!

NEWBORN JERSEY HEIFER

SMALL, BUT HEALTHY

This is the mama of the little heifer. So far, everything has gone well, and the calf is nursing and staying warm in a barn. If you compare it to the cowpie on the floor in the photo below, you can see just how little it is.

They sure are cute, especially at this age and size. Thankfully, the mama cow was friendly and nice enough to allow me the opportunity to photograph her little girl. I've never been this close to such a young calf before. It was a very interesting experience.

It always amazes me how small and fragile life begins for so many, and yet, by the grace of God, we grow healthy and strong and are able to enjoy this incredible world. I've not seen one of these getting born yet, but maybe soon. Another neighbor also had a cow calf yesterday. Hopefully we can check that one out soon too.

As always, I'm @papa-pepper and here's the proof:

Things like that bring so many memories.

I live in town since I was born, but every year I went to my grandma's over the summer on countryside.

Life there is much different than the one in life.

I mean, both lifestyles have its' own pros, but what I definitely miss the most about living on countryside is the peace and simplicity of living.

We enjoy the countryside for sure.

The mama of the little heifer is just beautiful and OMG the little heifer is so beautiful and nice color. But I won't lie, you look funny in that glasses and winter cap and handsome. Good work brother, you always challenge me to be better.

Welcome to this world!
You are lucky being able to spend so much time with animals.

Resteemed!

We like living near so many creatures and being involved in their lives. It is a blessing.

@papa-pepper Thank You, Proof of Calf=POC, made my Sunday Evening...........

Thanks! Glad to hear it.

happy for today!

i enjoy your post ^^! Thanks.

Very cute. A farm gives life perspective. It's a good place for a kid to grow.

It does, good point!

Great post again, thank you :)

I have seen a lot of calves being born and even helped with some being born. Jersey cows are such a pretty color. Now a bit of useless information Jersey cows are one of the cows who's milk has a higher fat content making it better for making butter.

Oh my land, she's beautiful, look at that face. I just want to cuddle her. :D Its a beautiful thing when a newborn arrives. They are so small, innocent, adorable, and snuggly (I know they are usually only looking for food, but its still sweet). :D Congratulations to your neighbors. :D
Thanks for sharing this, it made me smile so much my cheeks hurt. :D LOL. :D
God bless you and your fabulous family. :D Have an awesome day! :D

How cute is that? Thanks for sharing :)

Calving season is my favorite time of year! I can remember when my first cow gave birth and I absolutely agree that it is really interesting to see. We have about 8 dexter cows/heifers who are suppose to give birth in a couple of months. We cannot wait!

Traditionally Jerseys are the calmest, best cream producing cows, a good breed to have if you have access to the bull in the future.
As a kid, we had one old Jersey whose udder had grown to the extent that her teats dragged on the ground and she occasionally stood on them.
Then milking her was fun, as you can imagine.

Hey, that calf copied your haircut! You might've been able to trademark that, but it's too late now–even the farm animals know you're cool. At least this one's not trying to duplicate your mustache. Yet!

LOL! Too funny!

Soooooo cute!

@papa-pepper What a beautiful calf. You'll have to give some of us a primer on getting a heifer. I've heard you have to get a least two since cows are not keen on being alone. So do you just let them graze?

So cute! Too bad we eat them :-(

Wow! So amazing love this post!

ohh so cute 😁

this is very good my friend @papa-pepper,
this has started to have a new parent again.
keep your friends later on the result will be very satisfying and will not be disappointed.
@papa-pepper, because I already know how sick and happy we are at the time to keep animals like this cow.
