How to own a tiger

in #animals7 years ago

Pretty much everyone has thought of owning a tiger or other exotic animal. Either as a child or maybe even an adult. So I am going to show you how to get a tiger, because why not. I am also going to tell you how much it costs, how to be safe and what they eat.

Chapter 1: The cost
tigers are expensive, but if you want to raise one, the tiger will actually be the cheapest thing you will have to buy. Most of the cost comes from buying food, toys and maybe even a tiger trainer. The first thing you will need is a squeeze cage, that can fit your tiger at its maximum weight, which can be up to 800 pounds. the cage will cost about 250 dollars. you will also need 5 acres of land (Nevada land, because owning a tiger legal there)and an 8 foot high parimeter fence, which together will cost about 12,000 dollars. you will also need to take the tiger to the vet, which will cost about a 1000 dollars. Tigers also need toys, such as gaint balls, large areas to climb on and pools, which will cost you about 22250 dollars.

Chapter 2: The food
As a cub a tiger needs a mixture of milk replacements and various animal tissues. An adult tiger needs about 40 pounds of meat a day, which costs about 2000 dollars a year

Chapter 3: Training and safety
You should hire a trainer to train your tiger, which will cost about 30000 a year, but if you want to train the tiger yourself, you have to always be armed. Pepper spray is very effective as it causes severe irritation to the nose, eyes and mouth of the tiger.

Conclusion
Raising a tiger will cost you about 67500 dollars plus the cost of the food and the trainer will cost you about 33000 a year.
