Most dog owners don’t like to let their pet out of their sight, but Eclipse the Labrador rides the bus all by herself, every day! Find out why…
Seattle is proud to be home to Eclipse, the black Labrador that rides the bus every day all by herself. The famous canine is known by everyone, due to her inspiring, yet curious, story…
Eclipse, who is a cross between a black Labrador and a Mastiff, is the talking point of Seattle. News stations and locals cannot get enough of her and her strange story…
The story began several months ago, when Eclipse was at the bus stop with her owner Jeff Young. The pair were headed to the local park, so that Eclipse could floric in the grass and play fetch.
However, Eclipse became frustrated for Young was taking too long to finish his cigarette. The impatient canine couldn’t wait any longer…
Instead of obediently waiting for Young, Eclipse hoped on the bus when it arrived, leaving Young behind in a state of total bewilderment.
Eclipse rode the bus to the park, where she disembarked and roamed quite contently. Meanwhile, Young was left speechless at the bus stop…
From that day on, Young knew that Eclipse would happily ride the bus solo to the park, whilst he finished his cigarette and knew that he could catch up with her later.
Eclipse is now a famous figure on the 4 stop route to the park, with locals and tourists amused and bemused by the furry addition to their daily commute and travels!
Many are concerned about Eclipses solo adventures, and believe that she should be constrained to a lead for her own safety.
Eclipse causes no harm to the passengers and minds her own business, comfortably spreading herself across the seats for her 4 stop journey.
Passengers adore seeing her on the journey and often sit with her and take pictures with her too, which helps heighten her notoriety as a local celebrity.
Eclipse rides the bus with a bus pass attached to her collar, so that she doesn’t cheat the system and get away with her trips for free!
Not only is she locally famous, but thanks to Facebook, she is now also internationally famous! Via her facebook page, Eclipse has over 15,000 followers who love her antics!
Eclipse was born in Western Washington, but moved to Seattle at 6 months old. Now, at 5-years-old, she is a Seattle mascot!
People still get confused when seeing Eclipse on the bus, and many who are not familiar with her story attempt to help her find her owner.
But, the bus drivers who know Eclipse always tell them not to worry and that “she’s fine” and “knows what she’s doing.”
Commuters instantly smile when they see Eclipse on their bus, which is why the bus operators do not mind her taking her trips alone.
The clever canine knows exactly how long to wait on the bus before departing for her daily run around the local dog park.
She also knows exactly how to ride the bus like a human! Sitting on the seats like a normal human being, Eclipse behaves better than some human passengers!
Despite being a local celebrity, Eclipse is not permitted to ride the bus for free! Instead, she wears her bus pass proudly on her collar!
Thanks to Eclipses friendly attitude, she often makes friends on her rides, who take selfies with her and share them online.

Her owner shared the hilarious real life problem with letting Eclipse roam free: ‘Probably once a week I get a phone call. ‘Hi. I have your dog Eclipse here on 3rd and Bell. ‘I have to tell them, ‘no. She’s fine.’ She knows what she’s doing.’
A Metro Transit spokesman said the agency loves that a dog appreciates public transit, so Eclipse is here to stay!
That's a cute story. Thank for spreading some positivity
