Studying a career like that of Veterinary implies an ethical commitment to animal care and offers numerous benefits associated with the activities of the profession and the labor market.
Animals require care and medical attention in the same way as humans, so the Veterinary is an excellent option for those who feel adoration for animals and a deep interest in medicine and animal care.
Studying Veterinary means committing yourself to the animal world and working to seek your maximum wellbeing and health. The professionals in this area have an important medicinal knowledge, humanitarian and ethical values, as well as the ability to execute preventive programs, generate diagnoses and eradicate diseases of different animal species.
If you are considering studying Veterinary as a professional career, here is my personal opinion.
• You can work with your favorite creatures: if you love animals and want to work with them day by day, the best option is to study Veterinary. You can work not only with pets, but also with farm animals and even exotic reserve animals and provide them with the necessary care while they give you all their affection.
And it is perfect because if you really like what you do, it will be very easy for you to study, especially if you are like me who was not a student who was academically outstanding at school. When you study at university what you really like. It will be easy since you have that extra motivation.
• Minimum rate of unemployment: as I mentioned, the rate of employability exceeds 98%, around the world, so once you graduate from the career, you will not delay in getting work in the area. Studying Veterinary is a good option to immediately enter the labor market and maintain a good stability thinking about the professional future.
Maybe in Venezuela the figures are not so high in terms of employability, due to the current crisis affecting my country. However, veterinary medicine is one of the few employment fields where jobs are still available, despite all the difficulties in obtaining medicines and other essential instruments.
• Different areas of performance: the graduates of this career have broad job prospects, being able to perform in places such as livestock establishments, poultry and pig farms, zoos and animal reserves of different types, racetracks and pet care centers. They can also collaborate with their knowledge in animal feed factories and veterinary drug pharmacies, among others.
• You can help those who need it: this is my favorite part, studying Veterinary allows you to make a difference and collaborate not only with the improvement of animal life, but also with that of society as a whole. You can help animals in vulnerable situations or seek the cure of different diseases that affect them and which are not yet optimal treatments.
Also rescue animals in the street and provide medical care and find a decent home, that is perhaps my biggest motivation to become a veterinarian.
Being a veterinary it's not only taking care of animals. It is above all to love them, not paying attention only to the ethical standards of a medical science. Is much more.
To be a veterinarian is to hear the meows, moans, bleating, neighing, cackling, and barking, and mainly, interpreting and understanding them. It is like the wet earth, the countryside, the mountain, open spaces, moons and rains.
Being a veterinarian is no matter if the animals think, but yes, if they suffer. It is dedicating part of their being to the art of saving their lives.
Being a vet is approaching instincts. It is losing fears. It is to win friends of hairs and feathers, that will never disappoint you.
To be a veterinarian is to be able to understand tail swings, affectionate scratches and bites of affection ..
Being a veterinarian means being able to understand sad eyes, drooping ears, hot noses, restlessness or abnormal rest.
Being a veterinarian means understanding the body language of animals, asking for help, interpreting gestures and attitudes of pain, and knowing how to alleviate them. It is the smell of wet hair, of pillow with the essence of cat, of sheep, of corral, of manure.
Being a veterinarian means living side by side with profound teachings about love and life.
These are some of the values that teach you to be a good veterinarian and a better human being.
