Green Ibis
The green ibis also known as the Cayenne ibis is a wading bird in the ibis family Threskiornithidae.
This is a resident breeder from Honduras through Nicaragua, Costa Rica and western Panama, and South America to northern Argentina.
Scientific name : Mesembrinibis cayennesis
Food : Eats fish, frogs, insects and other water creatures. Thanks to it's long down-curved bill it can capture and eat creatures that live in shallow water.
Activity : It is diurnal and most vocal dusk.
Territory : Lives in swampy areas on the edge of forests and found commonly on the Caribbean side of Costa Rica.
Interesting facts : This wading bird flies with it's outstretched. It fashions a platform of twigs in a tree to use as a nest.

Watched a program the other night all about Chester zoo and they have a breeding program involving the ibis and they showed how they were about to release two in southern Spain very interesting program channel four I think,I've today done a short post about the dunnock if you get time you might like it .
