To me this beautiful bird is turquoise in colour but it is listed as a Green Honey Creeper. It belongs to the Tanager family of which I enjoy the company of many members. This has to be my favorite though as turquoise has always been a close companion and inspiration to me. This is my first ever sighting of this songbird so it was hard to keep still with excitement!!
These were taken using my Canon PowerShot SX60 HS

What a beauty. So lucky you are to get to see these birds. I bet their song is just as beautiful.

Do you know what is the difference between Philosophy and Darshanshashtra (दर्शनशास्त्र) ? Darshanshashtra is a Hindi word which means "to see what is as it is, just to be seen without thoughts (A view without thoughts), and while seeing if the thought comes, then it has become philosophy (A view with thoughts) ". And all the knowledge in India is based on Philosophy.
Be a "Dharshanshashtri"
oh yes indeed thank you. I very much am.
pretty bird, wonderful photography.
What a amazing bird and lovely turquoise color. Thanks for sharing with us @sallybeth23
Thanks very much for your nice comment.
Maybe is a cultural thing @sallybeth23, like in Japan, where people say the sun is red. I see it more like a bluish green anyway, but it could perfectly be turquoise. Apparently, the female is light green, that's maybe the real reason why it's called that way. Beautiful bird and great shots by the way!
That’s an interesting thought, yes u could be right. Yes the female i slight green, funnily I see lots of the females but this is the first male I have seen.
Dear @sallybeth23 your animal & nature photography..is a wondarful...& great post..thanks for sharing...
