Steemean friends, this time I will tell about orangutans.
Orangutans (or orangutans, other names are mawas) are a kind of great ape with long arms and reddish or brown fur, which live in tropical forests of Indonesia and Malaysia, especially on the islands of Borneo and Sumatra.
Sumatran orangutans have long cheekbones on male orangutans. The body length is about 1.25 meters to 1.5 meters. The weight of female adult orangutan is about 30-50 kilograms, while the males are around 50-90 kilograms. The fur is reddish brown.

Lowland tropical rain forest and peat swamp forest

Physical characteristics
In contrast to the Borneo orangutans, Sumatran Orangutans have long cheekbones on male orangutans. The body length is about 1.25 meters to 1.5 meters. The weight of female adult orangutan is about 30-50 kilograms, while the males are around 50-90 kilograms. The fur is reddish brown.
Adult males are generally solitary while females are often encountered with their children in the forest. On average each group consists of 1-2 orangutans and both sexes have a cruising range of approximately 2-10 kilometers overlapping depending on the availability of fruit in the forest. After weaning at the age of 3.5 years, the orangutan child will gradually be independent from its mother after the birth of a smaller child. Female Sumatran orangutans start producing at the age of 10-11 years, with an average reproductive age of about 15 years.
compared Kalimantan Orangutan, Sumatran orangutans prefer fodder and especially also insects. Favorite fruit including beringin fruit and jackfruit. They also eat birds and vertebra eggs - Sumatran orangutans] Sumatran orangutans are shorter in eating on stems in a tree.
The Sumatran Orangutan is more social than the Bornean orangutan. These orangutans gather to eat large amounts of fruit in the banyan tree. However, adult male orangutans generally avoid contact with other adult males. Rape is common among orangutans. The sub-adult males will try to mate with any female, although they may fail to get pregnant because adult females easily resist it. Adult female orangutans prefer mating with adult males
Orangutans are the basic species for conservation. Orangutans play an important role for forest regeneration through the fruits and grains they eat. The loss of orangutans reflects the loss of hundreds of plant and animal species in the rainforest ecosystem.
The world's remaining primary forests are the basis of human well-being, and the key to healthy planet is biodiversity, saving orangutans helping mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, insects, plants and other species living in Indonesia's rainforests.
