I was thinking about participating in the @juliank's animal photography contest.
I picked the animal and the photo but then decided that I want to post more than just one photo on this subject.
Easy living.
It's getting even better.
But then something bad happened.
Deep down inside we all know how this story will end, don't we?
It doesn't look so cruel on this one.
I hope I didn't insult some gentle souls here. We're an open-minded community here on Steemit after all. Or at least that's what I read.

A circle of life. At least they had nice lives. Not many of them have such freedom.
Some friend of mine told me yesterday a saying which he read somewhere, that is just perfect for you today:
"Many believe that poultry should not be found on a New Year's plate, as birds, unlike pigs, are looking for food by turning back, while pigs push forward, when looking for food." :)

All pictures are good and the food they generate will be very tasteful when they did here up as on your picture.
I don’t identify as vegan or vegetarian although I do enjoy preparing and eating meals without animal products.
And I am not offended by this post, but it makes me think a bit.
If people are following the principles of anarchy, do no harm, and believe that all beings are sovereign, it becomes a conflict to enslave and murder another being, even for food.
And if we then say, we can enslave, murder, and eat other creatures, they are not “conscious”, then it allows us in our world view to eat fish, cows, pigs, horses, dogs, cats, rats. And if it’s ok to enslave and murder these creatures, what stops us from enslaving and murdering other humans too?
Is this world view of enslaving and raising a captive conscious creature to be murdered and consumed, is this view compatible with the freedom tenets of anarchism?
And, by consuming a murdered creature that has been a captive slave, do we not absorb some of this captive slave energy by eating them? Hence, “You are what you eat.”
No judgement here, more a question of perspective.
I'm a vegan, and this kind of story really makes me sad. I try to explain to my friends why should they go vegan but that turns into a joke and that feels so pretty bad. Thank you so much for this post. This is a very good message to those people who loves to eat these tiny beautiful soul. You are a beautiful soul. God bless you. :)
Don't worry @virus95 eventually everyone will see the light. It won't be long until we classify meats the same as tobacco, hell, the WHO have already categorised processed meat products like the ones pictured here as a class 1 carcinogen which means they cause cancer, and other red meats Beef, Lamb and Pig as class 2A which is probably carcinogenic, they rolled back on the meats due to huge pressure from farming groups.
Thanks for your comment. It's not soo simple and black and white. You should look at nature and how animals live. We are just one of them. I saw a post just yesterday about how people feed their dogs with vegan feed. Do you think that's normal?
I don't need to go down a whataboutery path. The animals you picture and the reality of the meat industry are two completely different things. Pigs, approx 94% here in Ireland and up to 97% in the US are kept in hellish concrete tombs for the entire lives. Also to just simply excuse the acts of atrocity committed against these highly intelligent creatures by saying "nature" is a cop out. After all, animals lick their own butts too, should we do that too? Animals also don't keep other species in perpetual pregnant states so they can steal their young and when they are no good at producing offspring then slaughter them. We are a much higher evolved species who has the ability and capability not to enslave, torture designated species, rather, we have the ability to use or brains to come up with better solutions. That is what Vegans are trying to achieve.
I do not like pigs :D

I believe we were designed for that, even if some people try to convince us the other way.

Well i am not a vegetarian and that is not good i feel bad about these animals
When you'll have your own family to feed, you'll see a different picture. It's hard to raise three kids on plants.

Sorry @oldtimer, no it isnt. I raise 3 kids on plant based diet, 1 mma fighting teenager, and 2 younger kids who are thriving on a plant based diet. There are multiple well regarded agencies that state a plant based diet is sufficient in all age groups. I'd sooner feed my kids healthy hearty food that is not a recognised carcinogen.

That's what i am talking about! I am trying to find a photo from my cell phone from about 5 years ago, but with no luck. We were having a pig and a lamb at the same time, pig on top of the lamb. So that the fat dropping from the pig enchanted the lamb's skin. It was delicious! :)

We have adopted a moto on the farm that our animals have a great life with one bad day. Those are some good looking pigs!
