PEACOCK
Peacock Green or often called Javanese Peacock, its scientific name Pavo muticus is one of the birds of three peacock species.
Like the other birds found in the Phasianidae, Merak Hijau has beautiful feathers. The feathers are golden green. Adult male birds are very large, length can reach 300cm, with a very long tail cover. Above the head is a crested crest The female bird is smaller than the male bird. The feathers are less shiny, grayish green and unadorned with a tail feather cover.
Green Peacock populations spread in open forests with grasslands in the People's Republic of China, Indochina and Java, Indonesia.
Previously Green Peacock was found also in India, Bangladesh and Malaysia, but now extinct there. Although very large, Green Peacock is a flying bird.
