Have you seen a fish sleep?

in #animal7 years ago

I was waiting for my turn at the doctor's waiting room near to the big fish aquarium with my son and that's when he asked me if fishes do sleep? Well, I didn't know the answer, but even I wanted to know if those tiny colourful creatures that swim all day long ever take a break to give their body and mind some rest.

As soon as I got home, I got to Google to search for the answers and that's when I found out that fishes do sleep, but never with pillows and blankets ( 😜 kidding) . Fishes don't have eyelids so we never get to know if they are sleeping or not. If you see a fish hovering at the bottom of the tank or the surface of the water then you can consider it as sleeping.

Sometimes you must have seen that your little gold fish is taking a little more time than always to reach it's food and that's because it was snoozing. Very much like humans, fishes need a little time to yawn, wipe their eyes and get out of their bed to have their food.

So, now you know how fishes sleep right?
