Setting up an aquarium

in #animal7 years ago

The first thing to always remember when you are setting up an aquarium is that even fish need space. The rule in the aquatics world is one inch of the fish when it is full grown is equal to one gallon in your tank. I don't care who says different. If your tank looks empty right now, wait 6 months...

You can get way overwhelmed with aquatics if you buy pets as babies. If you are ever going to get fish the first thing you should look at is size.

Second thing to consider: how much time you want to spend cleaning. There are animals and plants that you can put in your tank that will allow you to never clean your tank again, but most of the time you need to clean your tank every 2-4 weeks. Depending on the size of your tank and equipment it could take up to an hour. Something to keep it you live a busy life style.

Stay fishy friends ;p

More to come on how to set up small to large tanks, and what you can have in them.
