How to get started on Anchor App

Have you ever wanted to start a podcast but had no idea how to get started? or maybe you’ve heard people talk about it but wasn’t sure what technology you would need? In this short series, I share how you can get started with podcasting by using the Free Anchor app. All you need is your smartphone and an internet connection, no need to purchase any technology (unless you want to) or subscribe to host your content.

What’s a Podcast?

Podcasting is a form of audio broadcasting on the internet which allows the user to download and listen to audio content. Podcasting was invented in 2004 and was invented by BBC journalist Ben Hammersley who combined the word Pod (ipod) and broadcasting.

Why Podcast?

Podcasting is an alternative way to create useful content and share with your audience. It’s a great medium for people who may not have time to watch your video or read your written content but may want to stay updated while driving or walking. Listeners can access your podcast in many different ways, but Itunes is one of the most popular ways for listeners to subscribe and to keep updated with new episodes.

How to get started on Anchor app

This 7-day series (available on youtube) takes you through everything you need to know about recording and getting your podcast up and onto Itunes by downloading and using Anchor app. Anchor launched in 2015 and provides users with a social media platform that connects its users with audio. You can broadcast voice, interviews and music (powered by apple music and Spotify) Since early July, I’ve been using the platform to document my book writing journey
