Thanks for the comment. I agree that the problem runs extremely deep and that we have many layers of social conditioning with which we build our whole understanding of reality. I think art can be more powerful than philosophy because it has he ability to cut through (or potentially strengthen but this is not the kind of art I’m talking about) our socialized notions and the habits and ideas built upon them and hit on something more primal. It can release us from that conditioning for a few moments.

Totally agree with you on art! I had a lecturer who was working on that at uni (well on politics adn art, but for the same reasons you explain), and then managed to get a resident artist hired in the politics department after I left. And I'm really into Horkheimer and Adorno because they recognised that (in the 1930s-40s!!) so wrote in a much less analytical manner than philosophers did back then/do now. The Dialectic of Enlightenment is a great read if you can get your hands on it!
Haha I have a feeling you are goin to be recommending me a lot of books! I will try to get rich quick so I can quit all my work-work and read it all without cutting into my Steem and music time.
Do it! Sell your house, your dog, your kids! I've gone all the way and there's nothing to regret. ;p
Cool do you play an instrument or compose/produce? I'm thinking about doing a music contest, but instrumentals only. Though i've got to start looking at the music section on Steemit a bit more to see what people are doing, I haven't made the time to have a gander round that bit yet.
I’ve been own that road once. Now I work part time, just enough to not feel financial pressure living with a bare minimum. Next time I quit it’ll be with a very fat crypto wallet.
There’s a weekly steemit open mic. I haven’t shared any of my music here yet. I’m still trying not to share my identity on here and my music is tied to my identity. I may eventually though.

-> me too, that's why I want to do an instrumental only contest. you should join when/if i do the contest!
No offense intended! When I lived in the UK the past few years I got to know a lot of people who'd been sleeping rough, and all with the same story...really drove home the point that it's just bad luck and circumstances which forced people there, and bad policies too. Glad to hear you found a way forward! And I understand your take on politics etc a lot better!
