In the history of humanity we have heard many times "The world has gone mad","It's a cruel world","The only one you can trust is yourself" and other types of phrases indicating that people's perception of their surroundings was a "war of all against all" or that "Man to man is a wolf".The intellectual elite of every epoch has been trying to come up with a solution to this problem since civilisation had started.Only in recent historical times has the elite been able to find the true culprit for most of the world's suffering. The lack of both personal freedom and feeling of responsibility. From times immemorial people have mostly turned to various forceful institutions for help, rather than relying on their own witts and skills to either do the things they need themselves or to rely on the free exchange of goods and services with others.People have lived in an authoritarian society for most of human history not only in their countries, but also on their workplaces, even in their families.Only recently has there been a boom of individualism in all spheres of life.Nowadays institutions like compulsory schools, patriarchical families,hiearcho-centrised corporations and virtually everything that works on the basis of authority that should not be questioned is starting to decline.Things like democratic schools offering choice for each and every person on the courses they would like to take, students advocating the liberalisation of every sector of the economy and the abolishment of the state and forceful methods to make society function have appeared and are getting more recognition every day.The skepticism against authority is steadily gaining momentum and hopefully in the near decades the world shall change for the better
Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile.
