I agree the mass media is probably the main problem, but the government supports spending heavily because it raises gdp growth which brings in foreign investment, despite much of that growth being from debt.
Please understand that government, media, banks, education etc are all part of the same complete package of hijacking our lives individually and culture as a whole.
