The parallels between anarchy and Lord of the Rings are insurmountable. @larkenrose has mentioned how authority is similar to the one ring. As I thought more on this concept, anarchy began to reveal itself in many places throughout the trilogy. I decided to run with it making comparisons to the one ring in existence on Earth, not Middle Earth. The idea that someone else is more equipped to rule you than yourself.
During the walk through the Dead Marshes, J. R. R. Tolkien placed dead bodies of soldiers in the swamp because it reminded him of the vulgarity of what he saw during World War I. A man, rigid and cold, sinking in a puddle with his eyes open, is a sure fire way to wake up to the needless hate that is a product of being bound by the one ring.
The men, hobbits, elves, dwarves, and wizards who persevere to destroy the one ring are like my anarchist friends on here. The spreading of nonviolent ideas through technology is how we will cast the ring into the fire. Because, to see the farm is to leave it. And how can they see it if we do not show them the way? Technology enables us to light the way.
