it can be a frustrating life that is for sure.
You got me thinking about reciprocity and I am not sure i share your view. I think of it as an essential part of community and especially building community.
On the other hand I have helped people with broken down cars, street people and just people who i most likely will never see again, without even the opportunity for reciprocity. Any gratitude shown was a welcomed bonus, but not the reason I help out ether.

I think I need to make a clearer distinction between reciprocity and showing gratitude. Perhaps they are interchangeable most of the time, but not always. I do pay it back out of gratitude our when I’ve led someone to believe that I would do so. For example, I try to check out posts by those who leave good comments. But I try not to have a feeling that I owe anything to anyone, rather that I appreciate them and want to express it by paying it back. I could say much more on this and will in my next post, thanks for bringing thst
