I fully agree with you facts and examples are what makes things more believable. Those are what I like to hear and learn from the libertarians and anarchist, but generally they dont give them :) That is what worries me a lot, hence I make the statement most of them are preaching, and not necessarily with the right effects since when preaching, you must also give real substance to the content otherwise you only convince those how are your followers and already convinced, and any other just walks away with a bad feeling since nothing really convinced that individual. I keep on searching for those with whom I can have meaningful and openminded conversations! :)
