I just got admission into the university and I will be resuming next week. How I wish I could be there, it would be like secondary school days, Ijeoma replied. Ada only sighed.
What if I asked my sister to let you come and stay in Lagos, that way you can work and save more money for your education. Ijeoma offered.
Ada could not believe her ears; she did not believe her friend could go to that length for her. Are you sure of what you are saying? I can't wait for that to happen, Ada said cheerfully.
Yes, I am, Ijeoma replied. They both laughed and hugged. I will be on my way home now to prepare for tomorrow's journey. You know Lagos is a very long distance, I need to sleep on time in order to wake up very early, Ijeoma explained.
Yes, you need to, Ada said beaming with smile, but wait Ije, let me give you something to take to Lagos, Ada said.
No no no, don't worry, Ijeoma said. But before she could finish the sentence Ada was nowhere to be found. She quickly reached for cutlass and entered their farm. She came out with a bunch of plantain, vegetable and some coconut her brother had plucked the previous day.
